You can work in in-house technology development or IT. As a technical computer scientist, you are well-prepared to support hardware and software development projects with your specialist knowledge. You will do a lot of programming and communicate with colleagues. Using the latest technologies is a given. You will always be at the cutting edge. The course is combined with voctaional training as an IT specialist.

Job description:

  • You create application-oriented solutions for the industrial environment
  • You set up robots, smart sensors, and automation and network engineering
  • You develop software for in-house applications and customer projects
  • You provide service and support in the automation environmen

Details of the dual study program:

  • University: Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Lemgo
  • University degree: B.Sc. - Bachelor of Science
  • Training occupation: IT specialist for application development m/f/d
  • Start of training: August 1st, 2026
  • Standard period of study: 6 semesters
  • Total training period:  4 years

Requirements:

  • You have or will acquire advanced technical college entrance qualification or general qualification for university entrance
  • You have German language skills at the C1 level
  • You have strong logical thinking skills
  • You show personal commitment and curiosity
  • You are performance-oriented and well-organized
  • You have good communication and teamwork skills

The following subjects are integrated into the dual study program in computer engineering:
